What is Food Ladder?
Food Ladder is a hydroponic greenhouse set up at ALPA workshop for growing food for our community.
When do we go there?
We go to Food Ladder once every week on the school bus to plant our seeds, to water them, and to see how they are growing.
What did we do there so far?
We have used potting mix and seedling trays to plant herbs and sunflowers. We put the potting mix in the seedling trays then we poked one finger hole in each pot to make a space to put the seeds. We put two seeds in each hole. After that we covered each hole with more soil and then covered the soil with special rocks that hold the water and keep the soil moist.
Each week when we go to Food Ladder we water our plants. The CDP crew help us to water the seeds when we are not there.
